About me

As a kid, I felt uneasy about wearing clothes or using objects that had a brand logo. It seemed strange to me that my "things" (toys, clothes, etc.) had anything other than my name — if anything, on them. I felt like those things weren’t really "mine", somehow, but somebody else's.

Over time, that discomfort turned into a quiet resistance, I started un-sewing logos from my shoes, covering logos from my shirts, bags, stripping away labels wherever I could, and generally avoiding buying and using visibly branded objects.

I liked to be non-branded, I felt myself.

What began as a simple personal preference gradually evolved into a deeper awareness of how advertising operates and the wide-ranging effects it has.

Initially, it was just a matter of choosing to avoid certain ads or brands, but over time, this choice sparked a critical understanding of the mechanisms behind advertising strategies.

It became clear to me that advertising is not merely about promoting products — it actively shapes consumer behavior, influences desires, and sustains a culture of constant consumption.

Ultimately, my personal journey transformed into a broader reflection on the societal and environmental implications of advertising.

This growing awareness inspired me to launch Pledge-No-Ads: a simple yet powerful step toward reclaiming our personal space, protecting our attention, and restoring freedom of choice in a world overwhelmed by unsolicited ads.

It is NOT about perfection — do NOT stress over this.
Go about it gently, one step at a time.

Enjoy the process, have fun, and measure your progress.
Appreciate the absurdity of unsolicited advertising along your journey; it is empowering, and it is meaningful.

Let’s build a world free from unsolicited ads — one that makes room for authentic, respectful connections with people.
